The Museum of Natural History includes a public display of Israel’s natural treasures, selected from a collection of some 5 million articles -- a vital resource for scientific researchers from Israel and around the world.
Bugs and Beyond | Permanent Exhibit
The largest and most varied phylum in nature – includes more than a million species.
We chose to design the exhibition as an organic, developing, non-symmetrical structure that simulates the experience of walking through a sort of insect nest. The exhibit space is darkened to enable isolated lighting, accentuating these small, wondrous organisms. Because this is the only exhibit in the museum featuring living creatures, planning was based on research into their specific needs, in terms of temperature, lighting, nutrition, escape routes and more.
